A straightforward guide answering the 10 most common questions clients ask before building a website — from pricing and timelines to SEO, ownership, and conversions.
If you’re thinking about building a website, your brain is probably going:
“How much?”
“How long?”
“Will this even work?”
“Do they understand my business?”
Relax. Breathe.
I get these questions on almost every call. So let’s answer them properly.
1. How much does a website cost?
Ah yes. The spicy question.
A website can cost anywhere between €1,000 and €15,000+.
And before you panic, let me explain this in a normal human way.
Most people don’t build websites every day. So technical explanations don’t help. Let’s use something we all understand:
A hairdresser appointment.
If you go for:
Wash
Trim
Simple styling
That’s your clean landing page. ✔
Basic info. Services. Contact. Maybe booking. Done well.
Now, if you want:
Layers
Shape
A bit more personality
Maybe maintenance over time
That’s your multi-page website. ✔
Blog. Detailed service pages. Better structure.
Basic builds usually range from €1,000–€7,000.
But if you want:
Full transformation
Highlights
Custom cut
And maybe a cocktail while you’re there
That’s custom systems. Booking managers. SEO structure. Brand identity. Integrations.
More custom projects start around €7,000 and can go up to €15,000 (in my world at least, I don’t speak about other designers 😌).
You’re not paying for “pages.”
You’re paying for complexity and thinking.
2. How long does it take?
Short answer: faster than you think, if you’re decisive.
Simple landing page → about 1 week
Multi-page website → 2–3 weeks
Custom systems → up to 7 weeks
Here’s how we do it:
You fill in a short questionnaire (no essay writing required, just clear formulation).
We jump on a discovery call.
We align on goals.
And then, this is important, after we agreed on the job,
I deliver the first homepage concept within 2–3 business days.
Yes. Days.
From there, we refine and move into development.
Delays usually don’t happen because of design.
They happen because of missing content or “let me think about it for 10 more days.”
Momentum is everything.
3. Do you need experience in my industry?
No.
I need to understand humans. Not just industries.
I conduct UX research:
Who are your customers?
What are they searching for?
What are they worried about?
How do they decide?
If I understand behavior, I can design for it.
Of course, industry knowledge can help.
But structured thinking beats “I built 3 dentist websites” every time.
Good design is psychology + clarity.
4. What is your process?
It’s structured. Not chaotic creativity. I think business before design.
Discovery → Sitemap → Design → Build → Launch → 2-week post-care.
We start with strategy.
Then I map your ideas into a sitemap.
Then I design the homepage concept.
If I captured everything correctly, we build.
You’re involved where it matters.
But I won’t overwhelm you with every micro-decisions.
5. What do you need from me?
Clarity. Not perfection.
I don’t need a ChatGPT-polished brand manifesto.
I need you explaining your business in your own words.
You’ll get a questionnaire.
We’ll shape everything together.
You may need to provide:
Brand guidelines (if you have them)
Photos of your product/service
Any relevant content
Access to domain or tools
Websites move fast when decisions move fast.
6. Will it be mobile-friendly?
Yes.
In 2026 this is not a feature. It’s oxygen.
Your website will be fully responsive and optimized.
If it’s not mobile-friendly, it’s not finished.
7. How do you make sure it converts, not just looks good?
Now we’re talking.
This is where just “wash and trim” doesn’t work anymore.
To convert, we focus on:
SEO-driven content (so people actually find you)
Trust signals (testimonials, proof, credibility)
Page hierarchy & scanning behavior (because people don’t read — they scan)
Every section has a job.
Every headline has a purpose.
Every button exists for a reason.
I combine:
UX research
Design psychology
Sales thinking
Pretty is nice.
Strategic is profitable.
8. What platform will you use? Can I update it?
I build in Framer or Webflow.
They’re structured, powerful, flexible, and far beyond basic drag-and-drop builders.
Yes, you can update it yourself.
And no, I won’t just disappear after launch.
You’ll get:
A walkthrough
A simple guide
Clarity
Plus, I will be a call away.
9. What happens after launch?
You get 2 weeks of post-launch support.
We make sure:
DNS is correct
Every link is properly connected
Everything works smoothly
After that, you can:
Maintain it yourself
Or work with me long-term on SEO and growth
I prefer partnerships over “thank you, goodbye.”
10. Who owns the website?
You do.
After launch, the website and design are yours.
You should never feel locked in.
Ever.
Final Thought
Most people think they’re buying a website.
They’re not.
They’re buying:
Confidence
Visibility
Authority
Growth
If these questions are in your head, you’re already serious about your business.
And that’s usually when it makes sense to talk, fell free to reach out.
